Day & Night Air Purifier
Our Day & Night air purifier uses a three-step charge/capture/kill procedure to clean the air passing through the air handler of your HVAC system:
- Charge: A “cloud” of electrically charged ions is produced by the purifier, and as airborne dust, pollen, viruses, germs, and other particles pass through it, they attach to the ions.
- Capture: Similar to how a magnet attracts metal shavings, the ionized particles are drawn toward an oppositely charged, pleated MERV 15-rated filter and are rapidly captured.
- Kill: Airborne microbes caught stay on the pleated filter rather than returning to the house and are exposed to a strong electric field. 99% of particular viruses and bacteria are rendered inactive there.
Cleaner Indoor Air
Having cleaner indoor air is important because your home can serve as a place where pathogens like mold and viruses that are carried in the air can thrive. To reduce the spread of viruses, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) advises upgrading central air filtration to MERV 13 or higher. The Day & Night air purifier offers an exceptional MERV 15 measure of efficiency for residential air filters because you have to catch it before killing it.
Based on independent testing (2020) showing a >99% inactivation, the Day & Night air purifier has proven effective against the murine coronavirus, a virus related to the human novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) that causes COVID-19. Therefore, when used in accordance with its usage instructions, the Day & Night air purifier can be anticipated to be effective against SARS-CoV-2. Testing by a third party (2012, 2007) also revealed that human influenza and Streptococcus pyogenes, the viruses that cause common colds, are 99% inactivated. To be inactivated at 99%, airborne particles must pass through your HVAC system and be captured by the MERV 15 Day & Night filter.
IAQ Cleaning System Installation
The OptiClean air scrubber quickly raises indoor air quality in schools, clinics, hospitals, and other commercial buildings by rolling easily into any room and plugging into a regular electrical outlet. It removes particles as small as 0.3 microns using long-lasting, 99.97% efficient HEPA filters before redistributing cleaner air into the space. Perfect for various business uses, including K–12 classrooms, offices, dental offices, and restaurants.
The primary purpose of the portable Day & Night OptiClean negative air machine is to help transform standard hospital rooms into airborne infectious isolation rooms. It has a maximum airflow of 600 CFM or 1500 CFM (AIIR). The Day & Night OptiClean unit removes filtered contaminated air from the room using a 99.97% efficient filter and a heavy-duty yet quiet motor in accordance with ASHRAE’s Standard 170 for Ventilation of Health Care Facilities. The resulting “vacuum effect,” or negative air pressure, limits the spread of airborne contaminants into the surrounding area. The device can be used as an air scrubber, drawing air in, removing many impurities, and releasing cleaner air if negative pressure is not necessary, as might be the case in an open-air, temporary hospital, retail space, dental office, or residence.
